GRID Series Artist Development Program – Application Terms and Conditions.

Hi, and thanks for applying for the GRID Series Artist Development Program (Geelong). You’ve almost completed your application, but before you submit it to us, please have a read of the terms and conditions below.

By way of background for these terms and conditions, when it says ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’, we’re really saying GRID. When it says ‘you’ or ‘your’, we’re talking about the person making the application.

And finally, when it says ‘GRID ADP’ we mean the GRID Series Artist Development Program.

Ok with that out of the way, here are the terms and conditions:

  1. The GRID Series ADP is a unique and innovative artist development program designed to help provide a select group of emerging artists with the skills and resources they need to build towards a sustainable career in the music industry. We will be selecting four (4) different emerging artists along with their hype person to take part in our Geelong program in 2025/26

  2. We are inviting applications from emerging artists who meet the following eligibility criteria.

Please read the criteria carefully to make sure you are eligible:
    a. You write and perform your own original music
    b. You live, work, or create your music in Geelong (or if your application is part of a band, at least one of your band members lives in these area)
    c. You are available and willing to take part in the GRID Program on each of the key dates listed on the website
    d. You are self- managed
    e. You currently do not have a recording, publishing agreement

    f. You are 18 years of age or over

  3. Unfortunately, if you don’t meet the eligibility criteria, we can’t select you for the GRID ADP.

  4. But if you do meet the criteria, then we’d love to hear from you! We are looking to support artists with something personal and important to say in their song writing, artists who need a program such as ours in order to help them overcome systemic obstacles, artists with a unique and exciting sound, with a passion for community and connection to other artists, and a willingness and drive to make the most out of the opportunities presented as part of the program. If you are unsure you meet all of the above criteria, please click here to take a look at the selection criteria in more depth.

  5. As we are expecting a number of applications for the GRID ADP, not every applicant who meets the eligibility criteria will be selected to for the program. We have the ultimate say in who will be selected for the GRID ADP and we’ll base our decision on the information in your application form. Our decision on who is chosen for the GRID ADP is final.

  6. To apply for GRID ADP you have to truthfully and accurately complete this application form. We trust that you have been honest in your application form, but if it turns out you haven’t been honest, we may decide to give your spot in the GRID ADP to a different applicant.

  7. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm, October 2, 2024.

  8. We will use the information submitted in your application form for the purposes of reviewing, processing and selecting artists for the GRID ADP. Don’t worry, any music submitted as part of your application still belongs to you.

  9. If you are one of the lucky applicants selected, you will receive:
    a. One-on-one Mentoring from a Music Industry expert
    b. 4x days in the studio to work with a producer on a track
    c. A fully produced, mixed and mastered track that will be released at the end of the program by GRID Series and serviced to key media and broadcasters. If royalties are generated from the track, they will be split 50/50 between 1 GRID ADP and the artist for a duration of six months. After six months, you have the option to release the track through your own platform. If you are selected to be part of the program, we will provide you with more information about how the royalty split will work, giving you the opportunity to opt out of the program if you are not happy with the arrangement prior to the program commencing.
    d. One artist documentary/short film that goes deeper into your story as an artist. The videos will be owned by GRID Series and hosted on our website and social media pages, however you will be free to use them to promote yourself and your new track as far and wide as you like.

    e. One local paid performance in Geelong, date TBC

    f. One ticketed show, with door proceeds being split evenly between the 4 artists and GRID (5 parties in all) in Geelong (venue and date TBC, early 2025)

    g. An additional paid performance in May 2025 (exact date and venue TBC).

  10. If for some reason you can’t make any of the dates, we will work with you to try and find a solution so that you can still participate in the GRID ADP. Ultimately though, you need to be aware that you may end up missing out on an aspect of the GRID ADP, or in the worst case, you may lose your spot in the GRID ADP if you are unable to make one or more of the key dates.

  11. If you are selected, we’ll need your help to promote and market the Program. You agree to provide us with reasonable assistance where requested by us. You also agree that we can take photos and videos of you at events that are part of the GRID ADP and those photos and videos will belong to us and can be used by us in promotional, advertising or marketing materials, without any further notice or payment to you or your band members.

  12. If we change these terms and conditions, we’ll do our best to let you know but please check the website www.gridseries.com.au from time to time to see if there have been any updates.

  13. Ok that’s it, you’re good to go! Good luck!
